We would like to be able to boot from a RAID 0+1 using the on-board Sil3114 controller. He has been in contact with Tyan about this a few times and they say that it can be done, but they are apparently very evasive when he tries to get detailed instructions. Just change the ids for the SiL3114, then cd /usr/src && patch < the_patch, then configure a kernel small enough to fit gzipped in the kernel install floppy, then start the installation via this custom floppy. (at least that's how I remember doing it) I believe you'll have to install the sources && apply the patch
